Hello my dad is in need of a new pc for his shop. He just uses it for estimates ,buying parts and printing.
Could you guys help me build something for him also something for backing up every so often.
Thanks.
I suggest you look at newegg or similar for a refurbished office machine. You can find something among those PCs that will be affordable and adequate to the task. There are literally thousands of options. Some are older but some are quite new. Many offices lease their PCs for just a couple years before upgrading to more current models. Many of those have brand new hard drives as the original owner frequently removes them to prevent data theft.
Here is a PC I found on newegg in about 2 min. For $250 you get a capable machine with a two year warranty from square trade. If you spend a little more time you can probably find something better.
Yeah, get a nice Dell or HP (etc.) business class refurb with ~5th gen i5. In that case I wouldn't do more than 8gb of RAM, but would budget in an extra HDD so you can backup to it for redundancy.
