strange problem

works fine for 12 seconds, freezes for 4 seconds, works for 12, freezes for
4 and so on.
this is consistent.

checked for viruses and spyware already
up to date with all windows updates and service pack2
ran seagate hard drive diagnostics, no problems
ran norton system works, no problems
P4 2.8ghz,
1GB Ram,
no tweaking or tinkering with overclocking, not into that
also temperatures are fine
hardware specs have been the same for about 6 months
and the only software installed recently have been the windows updates

anyone come across something like this ? works for 12 seconds, freezes for
4, it's weird

check your power supply and check for IRQ conflicts in device manager.

if that fails try unplugging parts till it stops, mouse/keyboard/usb devices

I've exactly what you describe with XP when the print spooler is trying to
send a job to an inop or disconnected printer.
Just a thought.
