Hello everyone.
I've built my PC 3 weeks ago and since then and I'm trying to troubleshoot and figure out how to fix random freezing happening.
i get freeze at random moments (like using chrome or just moving the mouse) . it doesn't happen very often. sometimes it hasn't freeze for more than 5 consecutive days. i manage to play for hours without any problem.

i didnt overclocked and i didnt mess around in the bios. i also tried to restore the bios settings to default.
i am available to do any test. im desperate at this point.

Has the system froze without the GPU? When it freezes does it recover by itself after a couple minutes?

  • are u suggesting to go without the videocard? i can try but is gonna be a long test cos as i said can go for more then 5 days without freezing.
  • its stay froze until forever. only 1 time it gave a blu screen after more then 1 min with the error: WHEA Logger error
(i opened a case on the windows website. here for more details : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1145997/whea-logger-error-event-id-1.html )

ty for fast answer btw

I would try to narrow the issue down. I had the exact same issue but it was with a brand new AMD GPU. The GPU caused freezing at random times (browsing web, after rending a video, mostly browsing the web..).

Your blue screen does say it is a fatal hardware error.

Do this: Click Start in Windows and search for View Reliability History and find the date in which that blue screen occurred and double click on the error to bring up more details. Show us the details of that error.

Recent reading suggests that the gpu of a 3000 series card can have some high power spikes that even the best psu can not handle.
How is the psu connected to the gpu?
Corsair support may have some answers for you.
i made sure have dedicated connection. so the nvidia cable have 3 exits. every exit end up on one 6+2 PCIe port on the psu with 3 different cables. the only thing i notice now is one switch on my psu. i can choose between single and multiple and right now is on mutiple.

i went deep into it: Toggle single +12V rail or multi +12V rail mode. In the “SINGLE” position, the full output capability of the power supply’s +12V rail is available to any and all connectors, while in the “MULTIPLE” position, each individual connector has Over-Current Protection so no more than 40A of current can be delivered on any given cable.

Have you tried single mode?

That's the same exact error my RX 6800 XT was giving me in Windows and causing system freezes. I used the same GPU in two different systems with two different power supplies (One Corsair and one EVGA) and experienced the same issue. I had to RMA the card. I'm waiting on a replacement.
