Hello all,
I just upgraded my CPU, mobo, and memory. When I boot up now, everything freezes about 5 minutes after Windows loads. Unfortunately since I upgraded 3 things at once, it's hard to find the culprit. It's a classic case of whodunnit!!!
Here is my current rig with the upgrades:
Intel - Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
MSI - Z390-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
MSI - GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB Video Card
Corsair - CX (2017) 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
I've done some troubleshooting already according to searching previous threads. Here's a list of everything I've tried so far:
- Tried different memory sticks 1 at a time in all different DIMM slots
- Tried using a different power supply
- Tried using different power outlets
- Rechecked all power and data connections inside the PC
- Temps are at 30 Celsius
- Reinstalled Windows
- Removed video card and ran graphics from mobo
- Set memory to native 3000 MHz in BIOS
- The freezing does not occur in safe mode
- Ran Memtest86 and received 3 errors. 2 in test 7 and 1 in test 8. i took pictures of the results, but I can't link the picture in this thread for some reason.
So the only lead I have right now is the memtest errors.
Does anyone have further suggestions or is it time to return these items?
Thank you all so much!!!
