Pc freezes and then needs to be turned off

Hi my name is James I have a problem my pc freezes and then needs to be turned off and then screens dont come on and then I have to leave it over night and then it works I had this problem with windows 8 then I repaired it and it worked but now it is messed up again it happened when I downloaded BF4 I have tried what I did before but it doesn't work I am on windows 8.1 help!

CPU: quad core 2.4 ghz motherboard: not sure but it's about 5 years old graphics card: nivida 660ti ram: 8G ddr2 psu: 750w. I am thinking of getting a new CPU and motherboard and RAM but I would like to fix my pc now while I save up.

Well you can always do fresh windows install.

Just dusted it today an it won't tern on i will try a refresh tomorrow
