Hi Guys,

My Setup

Mobo
: Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE AMD Motherboard
CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
GPU : Gigabyte Radeon RX 590 GAMING 8GB Graphics Card
CPU Cooler: BeQuiet! Pure Rock Slim CPU Cooler
PSU : Corsair CX650 650W 80+ Bronze PSU
RAM: Team Group Vulcan TUF Gaming Alliance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit

Can someone help me with a problem i am having when gaming (DayZ).
At the minute i am having massive freezes (Whole PC)/Windows blue screen or game just closes at times. Am not sure if its my Ram or GPU causing the problem or because i have the game installed on my D drive instead of an SSD?

As you can see GPU Utility goes from 0% to 60% to 100% and back around again also also of Ram being using....

Really not sure why am having the problems just want to be able to play without crashes and game freezes.

Thanks!

PSU : Corsair CX650 650W 80+ Bronze PSU

How old?

Original to build, new, refurbished, used?

Any error codes in Reliability History/Monitor or Event Viewer just before or at the time of the freezes and closes?

Disk drive(s): Make, model, capacity, how full?

you can try to isolate if its a CPU or GPU issue by having the resolution and all the graphics settings to low and running the game again. If the GPU utilisation goes low and if you still have crashes, its most likely CPU/memory related.

It could be unstable voltage or XMP profile rams. You can then run the rams at 2133mhz without XMP and isolate that or use ryzen master and limit the current and voltage and check for CPU power supply instability.

Alternatively, you can use cinebench and stress test your CPU.

PSU is just over 3 years old.

Pre built PC bought online website.

Any error codes in Reliability History/Monitor or Event Viewer just before or at the time of the freezes and closes? Whats the best way to do this?

Disk Drives:
240GB 2.5" SATA III SSD - Not sure of make. = Only around 30GB free.
Seagate BarraCuda 1TB SATA III 3.5" HDD - 277GB free.
External HDD Seagate ‎STGX2000400 2TB - 1.14TB free.

I just done the benchtest, Heres my results:

UserBenchmarks: Game 45%, Desk 78%, Work 43%
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 - 75.4%
GPU: AMD RX 590 - 53.9%
SSD: Adata SU630 240GB - 45.9%
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (2016) - 91.5%
HDD: Seagate Portable 2TB - 54.2%
RAM: Unknown TEAMGROUP-UD4-3200 2x8GB - 113.3%
MBD: Gigabyte GA-B450 AORUS ELITE

I am really unsure of this information, Any more help would be great to find out the reason behind my problems.

Also i have never updated my BIOS since i bought this pre built in 2019 so am thinking this may cause some problems?

BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. F40, 16/05/2019
SMBIOS Version 3.2
BIOS Mode UEFI

Is this the right website i need to download updates for the BIOS? Also do i need to download just the top one or every one after my current Version?

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450-AORUS-ELITE-rev-1x/support#support-dl-bios

Sorry for all the questions!

Hello, i have the same problem, random restarts,1 BOSD, mine started after i reinstall windows, keep restarting and it took 6, 7 attempts to finaly reinstall windows. this happend last week, since then the pc restarts like 10 time per day, random times, playing games, surf web, or watch youtube, same restarts. my history is this

" Now, i reinstall windows again, but this time , my pc restarts multiple time during the windows instalation, so no drivers, no other problems with software that i know of.

After trying like 6 time to install without a random turn off and on again. i manage to reinstall windows barebone, only chipset gpu and newest network driver( no apps or games) just bencharks and tests.

Test my RAM with memtest86, the test was succesfull. no errors(full 4 runs).

Test cpu with cinebench and intel burn test on loop, no problem ( cpu temp hit 72 but keep the boost up, no downclock), no problem.

Test GPU with furmark and ungine , temps 60-70 , hotspot reach 80 at one point, no problem.

Test m.2 drive, scan with windows, and run command prompt test . no problem.

After those tests and fresh install, i begin to realize i dont have a clue where these restarts come from.

No dumps, or minidumps where created. no BSOD , simply turn off and on.

While a link to the results would be more helpful it looks like the video card is underperforming. Double check the power connectors to make sure that they're secure, but you really need more of a view as to what its behavior specifically is. It would be useful to do what I suggested before.

Sorry for all the questions!
You certainly can update the BIOS (that is the right one), but it's unlikely related to issues that cropped up unless hardware has been changed.

I will try get the direct link to the test.Okay I will check inside the PC and the connectors to the GPU to make sure everything looks okay! Ahh what is 3D Mark? Sorry unsure how to do that if you can advise please.

Okay I will forget about the BIOS for now as just really looking to fix the problem and if its not that am not going to worry about that.

The free version is available on Steam just look for the "Demo" and run it. While you're running it have your utility software open (or use GPU-Z and look at the sensors which will show you the power draw breakdown) so you can see more detailed behavior. At the end of the run it will also give you a CPU/GPU performance breakdown showing clockspeeds which will also contain good information. You cannot revisit these with the free version so take some screenshots if you're unsure how to interpret this data.

Hi!

Checked connectors in PC and all looks good! Just done the 3D Mark test , results below:

Could not see anything on my AMD software apart from the GPU Utility stayed 100% during the test but when playing games it doesn't it goes up and down.

Thanks for any more help!

You are supposed to start your own thread, not "hijack" an existing one.

Well from looking at that it doesn't seem to be CPU/GPU related because they both seem to have been loaded up okay and performed as expected. Whatever is going on is definitely not an obvious hardware problem or something would have been reflected when you ran 3DMark.

I'm assuming you've verified files on the game installation already, but if not do so.

I haven't played DayZ in forever, but don't really remember it having memory issues like Tarkov has. I'd suggest try moving it to SSD first before doing anything else, and if that doesn't change anything the next thing I'd suggest would be to run the DRAM at a lower speed (JEDEC timings if they're 2933 or lower) just to see if the game is particularly sensitive to DRAM.

I would suggest making a new thread with as much of this info in it so we can help. Its not ideal to try to help two people in one thread. Specs of PC will reduce amount of time needed to answer as well. Its probably hardware though since it survives reinstalls. And interruptions during install process are also not a good sign.

what Philip said :)

@Bazza1993 what BSOD are you getting?

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

  1. Open Windows File Explore
  2. Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
  3. Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
  4. Do not use Winzip, use the built in facility in Windows
  5. Select those files on your Desktop, right click them and choose 'Send to' - Compressed (zipped) folder
  6. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
  7. Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

been a while since I seen BEDaisy.sys (BattlEye Anti Cheat driver), what game is it part of these days?
It caused one of the BSOD. Need to figure out what game it is in, see if there is an update.
the last three (from top of page) were all caused by the Adrenalin drivers.

Try running DDU in safe mode, uninstall Adrenalin drivers, boot back into normal and get latest Adrenalin again.

Try updating chipset drivers, you way behind - https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b450
Although you 9 BIOS versions behind, its unclear if it would help to update to it.
