PC freezes trying to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1

Hello everyone so i wanted to play Life Is Strange on steam and it started the setup to install the required drivers or what ever and my computer just freezed while trying to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1
Then i tryed downloading the intall from microsofts website and the same thing happened. :fou:

I'm looking at your system.. I see fairly old hardware, and then there is this $200 copy of Windows.

My guess is that it probably left some junk in the registry when you uninstalled it. And the new installation is seeing that, and its locking up for some unknown reason.

I think the first thing I would try would be to run CCleaner on your system. One of the many things it does is to clear out unneeded registry entries. They have a free version that you can grab.

It seems you are not the only one with problems installing Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1... But after spending about 20 minutes reading various posts on the microsoft forums, I have not seen any of their suggestions...

and one more harddrive for random storage

If CCleaner doesn't do the job, you might need to ask Steam about this. Im sure they have run into this a lot more than we have.
