PC freezes with buzzing sound, possible sound card problem?

My pc keeps freezing when I have my headset / headphones plugged in, it freezes with a weird buzzing sound , everything is locked , no bsod and I have to hard reset my pc every time. I plugged them out and I played 1 hour without any problems and no freezes afterwards. Usually when I have them plugged in it takes 3-4 minutes and my pc freezes.


Ran virus scan: no viruses

chkdsk found no problems

windows files are all ok, just reinstalled windows 1 day ago


I am unsure about the graphics card and ram,

R7 370 OC 2gb

1TB HDD

8gb ddr3 @1600mhz

500w psu

asrock 970 pro3 r2.0 mobo

You specifically need to list the headphones in question, as USB style headphones are typically their own sound device, working independently of rather than through your existing sound equipment.
