I bought an Intel C2Q Q6600 to replace C2D E4600 and now it freezes. I can use the pc but it is far from smooth and its horrible to use. Could you guys suggest something that I could try. I've already tried to reset bios and it didn't help. Thanks in advance.

Solution
Hi,

First off check if the cpu is supported by mobo and if the bios is compatible (goto mobo website in cpu support)
Second, be sure the cooler is installed properly. If not the cpu is overheating and can cause that kind of problem.
Also, did you remove the thermal past and reapply new one after cleaning the heatsink ?
Check if all cable / add on cards are plugged in properly, you might have bump something while replacing the cpu
