For some reason while gaming my pc is freezing and forcing me to hard restart, it happens from as little as 10 minutes in to as long as 1+ hours. When I restart I check the CPU temps in the bios and is always at 50-55 degrees.

PC:
FX-9590
Gigabyte GA-990FXA UD3 rev 4.0
Sapphire Tri-X R9 280x OC edition
Corsair H100i
Corsair CX750M 80+ Bronze
Seagate 1TB 7200rpm (Games on this drive)
Kingston 60gb SSD (boot drive)

It freezes on pretty much all games from CS:GO to Far Cry 4 and Battlefield 4 (All on Ultra)

I undercooked the CPU to 4.00 GHz yet it still freezes.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

What case is all this in? Hows the airflow?
I am going to take a guess here and say that that CX power supply is the problem maker. Though it is from Corsair, it is a bottom-of-the-line model and uses some questionable components: Millions in use, some will last for 5 years or more, but they only have a 3 year warranty for a reason.
If you can, try another known, good, working PSU: doesn't even have to be a 750watter, a good 500 or 550 with at least 30 amps on the +12V rail will work. If the PC doesn't crash, you have found the problem.

The case is the NZXT h440, airflow isn't too great but not fully restricted, thank you for the answer, ill try to buy a nicer psu in the near future and see what happens

Jas, that case looks to have really good airflow, so overheating of the components is probably Not the problem. Buying a new PSU is not a guarantee that it will NOT be defective (happened to me, what a hassle), that's why I suggested a working PSU: BUT if you do buy a new PSU try to save up enough to afford something from Tiers 1 or 2 from this list:

Please feel free to post here on Tom's when you start looking at PSU's, we will be more then happy to offer suggestions and/or point out quality issues if they exist. Post here, or start a new thread, doesn't matter.

I was having the same problem with mine. I have the same case (nzxt h440). My computer would freeze while playing world of Warcraft, and I would have to hard restart. I think I figured it out. It doesn't look like my temps are overly hot. However, something was happening. So I started playing with the front cover off, and it has yet to freeze. It's probably just an air flow problem. The case isn't vented well at all. Try that, and good luck 😀
