Hello everyone, first post here so sorry if I put it in the wrong category

My pc has recently started freezing all the time, and i dont know how to fix this issue. It works like this: The PC works fine for a few minutes, then I wont be able to close anything, after clicking twice everything freezes xept cursor, but after a minute its freezed aswell.

In order to shut the pc down i must turn off the power, the restart button doesnt work, same goes for holding the power button in front, of pc. Afterwards, the pc wont turn on for the next five minutes, afterwards the pc will turn on but it wont do anything xept putting all lights on the motherboard and shutting itself down after a minute, five minutes later the pc will make it to load itself to xp loading screen, but thats where it freezes and dies again, again after five minutes the pc will eventually make it to the desktop if not froze on welocoming screen.

If made it to the desktop, it will work fine for next 30 seconds and then closing or opening anything will result a freeze.

Im a newbie when it comes to hardware and all that stuff but I blame the CPU since bios says its temp is reaching 90C on idle. So, any ideas how to fix it?

The CPU definitely is the problem here. A CPU should not reach 90C, even on full load. Anything past the mid 70's is considered an ''dangerous zone'' for extended period of usage, and depending on your CPU model, you're probably looking awfully close to the Throttle temperature, usually between 95 and 105 on intel CPUs.

Some things that could fix it :
-Clean up your fans, but more importantly, the CPU's fan. The best way to do this is with small cans of compressed air that you use to push the dust away.
-Apply new thermal paste between the CPU and the cooler.
-Get an aftermarket cooler that performs better than your stock one
-Add case fans to improve the air flow
-If your CPU has it, disable the Turbo clock
-If you can, set your CPU's fan to Turbo in the Bios

These are a couple of things to do before calling a CPU defective, since cooling is very important, regardless of the make and model.

Well, I cleaned up the cpu fan but it barely changed anything, cpu fan turbo was enabled since I got that pc, but i dont remember my cpu having a turbo clock option. I may apply the thermal paste because it looks like the old one is completly gone, but im not going to buy anymore fans to that old pc, im trying to save all my money now for a new pc.

I dont know if this information matters, but ive been using my pc for 7 years now, mostly for gaming.

I'll try to get all the spec's, so far I only remember these:
* CPU - (I think it was) Intel core dual quad cpu
* Graphics Card - Nvidia GTS 250 1GB (Died), replaced by Nvidia GTS 210 512 MB
* 2 GB Ram

P.S: im going to be away for holidays for a week so once im back i'll apply the paste and see if its gonna change anything
