After looking around on the internet a whole lot, i am yet to find a solution to this problem.
Windows randomly freezes, PC fans still spin but i can't move the mouse and the screen stays on.
Upon noticing this problem i have done the following:
ran mem test, my ram was fine but i bought another set just to make sure, but it still freezes
Replaced motherboard, still freezes.
Reinstalled OS so i know it's a hardware issue.
Taken out the GPU and ran the system off of the motherboard and it still freezes.

any help on this would be much appreciated.

My specs
i5 4670k (stock)
8gb corsair vengeance ram
1TB seagate SSHD
CX600W corsair PSU
MSI Z87-G43 motherboard
Nvidia GTX 660

The PSU worked fine in my i3 rig with similar specs, the only difference was that rig had a 500gb hard drive and only had 4gb of ram.

The event viewer says the following
Level
Critical
Source
Kernal-Power
event id 41
Task Category
(63)

'The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

You need to go into Event Viewer and open the individual Logs ... Windows Logs / System log ....scroll down to time of freeze and look for error / warning messages.

The "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." message is after the fact. That's telling you that an error occurred prior to the reboot.

Still need a solution, Constant crashes today and im starting to think it's the motherboard. The previous motherboard was the same one i have now and both have failed to detect my dvd drive and/or a secondary hard drive or sometimes it will detect it then it'll disappaer after a couple minutes.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated
