Hello!
So, recently I've tried upping my power limit on my MSi RX 480 8GB to 50%, as I've see it helps reduce fps stuttering in games. It definitely does help a lot, I've noticed.
The problem is, after a while of playing, my PC just freezes completely. I have to manually shut down, boot up, and Wattman says it reset itself due to a system failure.
Am I missing a step in order to up the power limit? I have an aftermarket cooler (CoolerMaster Evo) and two extra case fans, and the GPU itself has 3 fans built in so I should have plenty enough cooling. I keep the temp monitors up on my second screen and never saw the GPU go over 65.
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X OCed @ 4.1 GHz @ 1.3V
GPU: MSi RX 480 8GB, no OC other than power limit increase
Mobo: Gigabyte Gaming 3
RAM: 2x8GB Ripjaws V @ 3200 MHz (XMP Profile 1)
PSU: 600W Bronze Certified.
