Question PC game and steam controller on win 10 and Linux

Hello all! I have a PC game called STALKER clear sky I bought through Steam on my Windows 10 hard drive.I havn't tried all 83 of my Steam games but I have always been able to get my steam controller to work with all the ones I've tried. The stalker game is the onlky game that I can't get the controller to work with.

What's weird is I downloaded it on my Linux installation and the steam controller works great and I can customize it like normal.I'm not even using a proton driver in the Linux install.How is it the controller works perfectly in Linux but it doesn't work at all in my windows 10 installation?Any insight appreciated. Both Linux and windows versions were downloaded and played through Steam.And I've tried all the tricks trying to get the controller to work with my windows installation.The game works fine on Windows if I use keyboard and mouse.

This game never had a proper controller support, only K&B on Windows OS. Have you tried using this, reWASD ? I haven't, so I don't know whether this actually works properly or not.

I'm in the process of getting rid of windows to play games on pc so this turned out great. Thanks Metal but this is the only game I havn't been able to get the controller going on with windows .I'm more curious why the controller works great with Linux and doesn't at all on Windows. I'm thinking Valve and /or the publisher did some work to make it work so good.
