pc game files and achievements are missing!

I did upgrade to win 7 64 bit then i realized that my PC Game files saved and achievements went back to default! Are there workarounds to retrieve those game files?

If you didn't back them up before the installation then they've most likely been overwritten and are not recoverable.

However, i did notice that old windows folder have kept my user settings for steam games but i'm getting an error whenever i launch most games on steam.
Is there a workaround ? Maybe a magical setting or creative folder repack
