PC games to play with friends

4 friends looking for some ideas of games to play. Please no generic answers of Minecraft, WoW, GW2, LoL etc, we've tried them all and just want something new.

Hello my fellow gamer!

Well if your looking for something non generic I would recommend something like mario kart or super smash bros, but your probably not expecting an answer like that so... maybe Dayz, Borderlands 2, Borderlands, Dead Island. I see that most of the games you have previously played are mmos, but if you have 4 people including yourself its perfect for co-op story games like the ones I've mentioned above.

have you tried Left 4 dead?

How about some racing games? NFS, dirt, etc?

World of Tanks? Planetside 2? Warframe? <- these are all free to play with coop available

It would be more helpful it mentioned the Type of 4 player game you were looking for
Like for strategy there's a new game coming out called planetary annualiation that looks 100 percent awesome co op free for all teams etc you build an entire planet and try to destroy you're oppnites. A huge step up from starcraft type games for originality but If you don't like starCraft you won't like it. So you should mention if you're looking for a shooter MMO or what ever to get a better answer to the question at hand.

Please verify 'generic answers'; I'm afraid that I have no idea just what kind of games that you are talking about. BTW if you are talking about games that are frequently played (popular) then you're going to have to stick to them, as the good games are normally the 'popular' ones. Unless you want games with metascores of under 30, you're out of luck.
Adding to the above people though, I can suggest Gmod as well, although it is like Minecraft (its a sandbox game) it has many, many more possibilities and VERY fun to just mess around in with your friends.
