Hi Guys,

Im a high school student on a tight budget for a gaming pc. This is my first build and I really want a Good PC. Do you guys have any recommendations for my build I really wanna run most games on ultra like BF4, Far Cry.

You will certainly be able to run those games on ultra, i know i play BF4 on ultra with an athlon x4 and a 7770 so you should definitely be able to crack in ultra settings!
PS if you can, squeeze the ram to 16 gigs, its not an overly expensive part so there's not much to loose.

Uh its not tight on budget lol u know. You are picking one of the great CPU + GPU. Basically its for Gaming only? GTX 970 would definitely outperform R9 290.
And anyway you are buying an overclock CPU, without motherboard that support it. Would suggest to get Z97, MSI / Gigabyte should be okay.

Also if you go on GTX 970, you don't need a 750W PSU. 600 W Should be enough.

Definitely you can play BF4 on Ultra, and Far Cry. (Remember Far Cry are exclusive for NVIDIA, so if you gonna pick those R9 290, it won't be getting a great FPS.

You won't need to go for 16gb's of ram. It's overkill for games.

What lucoTF posted looks like the best build for your cash. No optical drive included but i've not used mine in years.

The Antec? It's a rebadged Seasonic S12 II

But yeah for $15 more you could get the EVGA B2 750w, not necessary for the rig but for such a small price difference you may as well

I'm not saying its bad. its just ive gotten a lot of XFX 750w xtrs for the same price or even less which are tier 1.

i got one for $80 on sale. others in the 90s
