Hello all,

I need advice in building two rigs.

The first is for gaming. Longevity and reliability is the main focus compared to the performance. No overclocking at all. The atmosphere here is around 35 degree Celsius which goes to 45 degree Celsius maximum. The environment has few dust.

Please suggest from within the components mentioned in my post since here not all components are available.

The build:
CPU: (Will the higher version go boost with gaming load at this ambient temperature and stock cooler)
Core i5-4460 (or should I go to core i5-4590 which is ~10 USD expensive)?

Motherboard: (Is there any difference in which I select or should I go cheapest of these 3)
ASUS H81M-E or ASUS H81M-K or ASUS H81M-C or GIGABYTE GA-H81M-DS2 or GIGABYTE GA-H81M-S2PV

Memory: (Is there any difference in which I select or should I go cheapest of these 3)
Kingston HyperX FURY 1866 10-11-10 8GB (HX318C10F/8) Two separate single sticks
Vengeance® Pro Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 1600MHz C9 Memory Kit (CMY16GX3M2A1600C9)
Vengeance® 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10)

GPU: (Any difference in terms of reliability)
Asus STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 or Gigabyte GV-N970WF3-4GD

Harddisk: (Confused..)
Seagate 2TB 3.5" SATA HARD DRIVE 64MB CACHE (90$)
Toshiba 2TB 3.5" SATA HARD DRIVE 64MB (DT01ACA200) (83$)
Western Digital 1TB 3.5" SATA HARD DRIVE 64MB CACHE CAVIAR GREEN (68$ but 1 TB)

Power Supply (Most Important, ignore efficiency and focus on reliability and hold up time for UPS):
If Corsair GS500 or GS600 is available then this one right? But if its not available then which one the the two below?
Corsair VS 550
Cooler Master Elite V2 550

Thank you all!!!

Hmmm...There are a number of things here:

CPU: If the quicker processor is only 10 bucks more, get that! There is little to discuss there

Mobo: Would I go for an H81 board...it is cheaping out massively...If you can live with limited features and connectivity...ok. Personally, I would recommend going for a h97 or z97 board. Cost a bit more and despite not OCing (re z97) you can still get many better features and overall build quality and feel improvments. This is speculation on my part, however some companies extensively stress test their components before sending them out to market...that is each new one. I have a feeling they would focus on the premium offerings more than the basic ones, however I could be wrong. Gigabyte has upped their game and for h97/z97 asrock seem to deliver epic value on some models.

Memory. Near as makes no difference. Go for the mix of cheapest and aesthetically best fit perhaps. 16GB is total overkill unless you edit/render video.

GPU: Same difference, try and go as high as possible on the factory overclock and fan performance rating as possible. Asus Strix is a good card though. Check out the latest EVGA offering!

HDD: The WD Green is for "ECO" users and it ends up being slightly slower as a result. You want to aim for a WD Blue or Black. They are the favoured brand due to performance and reliability. My bro uses my old pc with blues in there...been smashing it daily since 2008 with many formats, file transfers, even had it running as a nas type central storage unit at some point...work like new!

PSU: Not corsair...here you want high quality and a bran that designs and tests their own product. The only way forward is Superflower or Seasonic for your requirements. Harder to get superflower however they are unmatched in quality and design in most classes, by using components like Japanese transistors over chinese, raising quality hugely!
