Hello im making a new pc
Mobo : Asrock z370M pro4 retail
Cpu : i5 8500 8th gen 3ghz
Gpu 1060 3gb palit
Psu corsair 650w
SSD 128 Gb Kingston
HDD 1tb for storage
Ram hyperx fury 2x4 gb 2400 mhz 15-15-15
I dont know if i should aim for a higher mhz ram and if its going to make any difference. Am i going to be disappointed by my choice?
I only use the pc for game

Solution
The build seems allright overall, but try to improve the following:

- 6GB 1060 instead of 3GB if possible.
- 250GB SSD instead of 128 if possible. You won't be able to fit more than 1 modern game to it.
- 8GB is OK for now, but it is already borderline for smooth gaming, 16GB is becoming the norm. However, RAM is expensive, so... your pick.
Since you're just gaming, I don't think you'll be missing out on anything. The difference in RAM speed between 2400 and 3200+ is most noticeable with Ryzen, due to how their "infinity fabric" works; but with an Intel, it's not as important. I still game on DDR3 1600 Mhz, and it's fine for everything so far.

You will be disappointed if you think you would get any perceived improvements. Ram may help a little for Windows itself, less caching, but ultimately nothing. Do you have an SSD? That will make Windows seem faster and games load up quicker, but won't make them run faster.
With your setup the 1060 should be more than enough for most games, unless you want full on graphics or 1440 res.
The only next upgrade is to change GPU for gaming.

Then in that case, the RAM will make maybe 1% difference if you are lucky, not worth the money imo.
Save more for a better GPU.
I personally think you are already at "peak performance" for what you have.

Thanks for the info about the ram so i should stay at 2400 mhz
You said peak performance... I dont aim to play ultra on 2k or 4k i aim to play at 1080p ultra
Why you think this build is "peak"?
Sorry for my bad English

You can't get any faster without changing the GPU - No matter if you put in the latest CPU, 64Gb Ram, and a super fast M2 SSD - You are limited by the GPU being a 1060. The only way you can get faster is going to a 1070/1080

If you can list your actual Money you want to spend, people can help you choose with their suggestions
Also what country you are in, as I know different countries different prices.
