Specs:
Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40 ghz
4gb RAM (ddr2)
AMD Radeon R7 200 Series
Windows 10 x64

So
-Blade and soul runs at a steady 30 fps at lowest settings and 25 at highest.
-Battlefield 4 runs at roughly 25 frames from absolute lowest to high settings
-Mortal Kombat X is up and down between 10 and 30 at all settings
-And these are all games that i should be able to run at least decently!

Just generally what im getting at here is that almost every game i play runs at the same framerate from highest to lowest settings almost no matter what. What is the problem here? Uninstalled and reinstalled Videocard Drivers by the way. Ive had this problem for a few months now and im not sure why. And please dont answer with obvious shit YES ive turned it off and on again :^).

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as i play alot of games in my down time.

-Thanks in advance

General rule of thumb, if you change graphical quality from high to low and low to high without an fps change, your system is bottlenecked by the CPU. Your graphics card is able to handle the graphical change since you are not losing FPS but since you are not gaining any real benefit it is the CPU being the limited factor.

So my Quadcore 2.4 ghz isnt good enough?

Your CPU is nearly nine years old, it's going to have trouble keeping up with newer games. 4GB of RAM likely also isn't helping matters either. You're probably going to want to look into doing a full system upgrade at this point.

Well fuck me, Im 17 years old and i dont even have a job. Looks like im gonna have to just grow up soon and get the money to upgrade

The only 'free' thing you can do to improve performance would be to try overclocking your CPU. Problem is that doesn't work on all motherboards, and you really need an aftermarket CPU cooler to keep temperatures under control. The Q6600s were good overclockers, and some people have managed to keep them somewhat viable by overclocking them above 3.0 GHz. You might want to check your temperatures now, just to make sure your CPU isn't throttling, the thermal paste that fills in the gaps between the cooler and the CPU may have dried out if this system is quite old leading to high temperatures.

My CPU is not overclockable on my current Motherboard. Ive tried doing that and it just didnt happen. Not really sure what to do at this point that doesnt involve me just buying a new rig altogether like the other guuy said
