Question PC halting on CPU light, new CPU now DRAM light ?

Asus tuf x570 gaming plus wifi

Son claims PC suddenly stopped booting. Halting on red CPU led. Removed and reseated all components including power and GPU and CPU. Still CPU light. Replaced with new CPU, now orange DRAM light .

Tried both sticks of ram individually in all 4 slots, reseated all components again, removed cmos battery and jumped clear pins, tried know good working RAM stick, still DRAM light. Resinstall old CPU, back to Red CPU LED, resinstall new CPU, back to DRAM.

Leaning mobo at Thai point but wondering if you have any other troubleshooting suggestions before I do a board swap?

Old CPU - Ryzen7 2700x
New CPU - Ryzen 5500
Ram - 32gb 3200 CL16
GPU - Radeon 6600
PSU - 850W

Before swapping over the cpu's, did you update the motherboards BIOS to a version that will work for the 5000 series cpu?

Yes, the mobo was running a 3700x originally in my PC before putting it in my son's rig with the 2700x.
