I have a random problem that I havent had any luck finding any answer to. I have HP Envy phoenix 860 pc. It randomly crashes while gaming without any warning (power off, nothing happening) and to restart I need to take the power plug off for a few seconds and plug back in to be able to restart the pc.
I've noticed that this crash seems to happens more on certain games than others (mass affect andromeda and dragon age inquisition being the most common to crash, but I've had crashes on games like world of warships etc that arent that power hungry). Weirdly I can run any of these games on pretty much full graphics without any problems except for the crashes.
I've done a clean reinstall of win 10, I've checked logs (dont have any 'cause the pc just dies without any indication its going to). PC was OCd, and not anymore (still crashing).
I dont know what to make of this any more, any help would most certainly be welcome!

Solution

Welcome to Tom's!
The power supplies that come in pre-built computers are not known to be the best. I suspect that at the time of crash, your PC required more power than the PSU could deliver, causing it to basically shut off.

Solution
That might actually be it. I had a sneaking suspicion that the 500w PSU isnt nearly enough considering watercooling and everything else. Guess its time to start looking for a better PSU then. Thanks for the brief confimation for my fears!
