This morning,
BootGuard by NeoSmart prevented from booting in legacy mode. Ask to configure to UEFI. Error BG-4PP [neosmart.net/wiki/bootguard-4pp/
Originally few yr ago, Windows 7 was installed using CD and later was upgraded to Windows10. Probably legacy mode. The Custom pc was working well until now. CPU i7 2600k 24bg ram, GA-Z77X-UD3H, 2 SSD and 4 HDD, 4K tv, 1080Ti.
Motherboard is showing error: AE

If I switch from automatic[legacy/UEFI] into UEFI mode only does not recognize disk.
I try Bios setup:
Os type Other OS
Boot mode UEFI only

Reboot and Select proper Boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

How to fix this loop?

Upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10 would not change the BIOS settings from windows 7 installation unless the user changes it. Once an OS is installed as UEFI the drive is hard to change back to legacy mode. I would keep windows 10 UEFI

How to know if Windows 10 was running UEFI or legacy in my ssd?
If is legacy, how to take out this BootGuard?
Or what is the best decision I can make at this point? Or step to follow
Thx

Your motherboard has a BIOS interface. Once you restart press the delete key to enter the bios. On the bios screen the BIOS features top of the screen will have the information you seek.

Unless you changed the bios settings before you insyalled windows 7 than it most likely set at UEFI.

I would disconnect all drives but the boot drive while trying to fix the system.

My bios setup was put buy default since I purchase this motherboard in automatic [legacy/UEFI]
The boot mode selection was alway “UEFI and Legacy”.

All drivers are disconnected except for the Windows SSD. That does not pop up in the bios boot options.

In the Save and exit section there is the option as boot override to my SSD as well as in serial ata port 0 displays the SSD.

If I select the SSD boot override when exit, a message pops up: BootGuard by NeoSmart prevented from booting in legacy mode. Ask to configure to UEFI. Error BG-4PP [neosmart.net/wiki/bootguard-4pp/

I did fine this after a search.

It seems Neosmart is protecting your OS installation. And it states to change to UEFI in the BIOS and only UEFI. I know nothing about this software. I built my own home computer and never use that kind of software.

I do not know why it has worked in the passed fine. If I had to guess it was a windows 10 update.

What would happen if you uninstalled Neosmart I can not be sure but you could loose your data on the drive.
