Hello all,

Current setup contains:

MB - Biostart x370gtn
Mem - Corsair Vengeance 16GB @3000
CPU - Ryzen 7 1700x
GPU - Nvidia 2060 Super
SSD - 500GB for system use
HDD - External 2TB drive

Been having issues with my PC where at startup for the first 15 minutes or so I'll have micro-stuttering and after opening internet tabs it can come back in small amounts. It'll happen whenever a video or game is happening as well. I've gone through clean installs of windows to updating drivers and BIOS to testing my drives and memory sticks. Best information I've found now with LatencyMon is that I'm getting the most faults from my DirectX Graphics Kernel (dxgkrnl.sys) and Storage Prt Driver (storport.sys). If anyone could potentially help I'd appreciate it. Below is my latest LatencyMon report.

CONCLUSION
_
Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES
_
The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 101056.50
Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 22.552946

Highest measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 101051.10
Average measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 18.954431

_
REPORTED ISRs

REPORTED DPCs

DPC routines are part of the interrupt servicing dispatch mechanism and disable the possibility for a process to utilize the CPU while it is interrupted until the DPC has finished execution.

Highest DPC routine execution time (µs): 100969.261049
Driver with highest DPC routine execution time: storport.sys - Microsoft Storage Port Driver, Microsoft Corporation

DPC count (execution time >=4000 µs): 61

_
REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS
_
Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

Process with highest pagefault count: mbamservice.exe

Total number of hard pagefaults 24872
Hard pagefault count of hardest hit process: 6474
Number of processes hit: 45

Try this step by step (read till end):
  • Disconnect from internet
  • Uninstall gpu driver DDU (clean and do not restart).
  • Uninstall all the processors (should be 16 on yours, also when it asks for restart, click on no) on device manager and the chipset in control panel like this:

  • Restart the pc to bios, and update to the latest bios again. Then go to bios again after update and load default or optimized settings, then save and exit

  • boot up to windows and install the latest Chipset driver, reboot and go to power plan, make sure it is set on amd ryzen balanced power plan, and connect to internet.

  • Install the latest nvidia driver.

*do this all offline until reboot after installing chipset driver, also you may reboot to bios after all of this to set the XMP (and previous settings you did). Download needed files (highlighted word) before doing step 1, do the step by orders.

  • Run cmd as admin, then do chkdsk /x /f /r, after that do sfc /scannow

  • And check windows update (and optional updates) if there is any and install them (except chipset in optional update). Enable hardware accelerated graphics scheduling (available in the latest windows update) in graphics settings and reboot, it should be like this:

  • Make sure the psu connected to the gpu is 1 pcie cable per 1 slot (use main cable, not the branches/split) like this:

This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS

Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

CONCLUSION
LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for 0:30:40 (h🇲🇲ss) on all processors.
