PC having issues at 2400 MHz ram speed

Hi, so I've got a somewhat new build and everything is great. The problem is the ram. This isn't anything major but kinda curious about it. My ram speed is 2400 MHz but in bios it says 2133 MHz. So, I went to the settings and set the ram speed to 2400 MHz and now, it spends a lot of time trying to boot and sometimes even fails. It often reboots then tries again. If it does it too many times, it says an error occurred and i run the setup and set the ram back to 2133 MHz and then it works fine. Does anyone know why this happens to the 2400 MHz? The ram can support and so does the motherboard. The motherboard shouldn't crash since anything beyond 2400 MHz is considered an overclock. Do I need to change the voltage? I did keep it at auto voltage. Here are my specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700
Motherboard: MSI x370 Gaming Pro Carbon
Ram: G. Skills RIPJAWS 32 GB DDR4 2400 MHz (4 8 GB sticks)
PSU: Corsair 750 watt 80+ gold

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Peuxxx :)

You may have to tinker around with your DRAM Primary Timings and Voltage in Bios if your RAM is defaulting to 2133MHz. If the kit you have has an XMP profile then it may not be recognized.

It's strange but of all the tested RAM kits on your MB QVL, I could not find one kit of GSKill 2400MHz 32GB 4x8 modules listed. They should work but you may have to update your Bios if not already done so.

My bios is already latest version :/ Yeah I heard that it isn't in that list. What should I clock the voltage too? If all else fails, I could stick to 2133. I mean I doubt the difference is that much from 2400 lol (maybe)
