Pc hdmi port problem

when i plug in the hdmi cabel into my pc nothing shows up. my pc's hdmi have worked fine before and my hdmi cabel's work fine whit all my consols i have done this whit 3 diftent tv's and i end up whit the same problem. i have an lenovo y500 laptop

There should be a fn key that sends the signal to the tv.

Another method, boot into win8 first.
Next connect cable and press the fn key to send signal to tv.fn is those f1 to f9 keys.
Eg fn+f7

when i press f3 ther come's up an menu whear i can chose if i what to have only the tv or only the pc moiter and expand it but i stil get the same problem

Update video card drivers and if your running Windows 8, try Win+P.
