so a few weeks back I had some issues with my PC overheating. so I took it apart cleaned out the dust and adjusted one of the fans to spin faster. now that winter has rolled around and the temperature in my room has dropped by a good few points the same issue I had before is re-occurring. my PC is shutting down right in the middle of playing a game. I assumed that it was cause my PC was getting too COLD instead of too hot so I pulled it open and adjusted the fan. so far it seems to be working but I don't know if this is a cooling issue or the signs of something bigger.

and before someone asks YES after cleaning my pc it worked problem free for several weeks. and NO it does not need another cleaning.

I would check your cpu and video cards fans are working while you start a video game.
its not too cold 😛 how old is the system, it is a possibility either cpu or video card gpu is over heating (even if fans are running)
run a program like Speccy or zgpu to get temperatures on your cpu/gpu anything under 80'c is fine, over that its too warm
could be its time to take heat sinks off cpu/gpu and clean the heatsink paste and reapply a fresh layer.

according to Speccy everything is running between 25-35 degrees C

as for age. I built the thing myself during October of last year. the only things I've done since is replace a dead hard drive and clean it a few times.

after running a game for a few hours the temperatures climb to 30-50 as apposed to 25-30

Ill pass a long a little info I got recently from a similar experience I had. Those temps are fine for CPU/GPU, check your power supply.
