So recently I was left with my brother’s PC and I replaced his graphics card with my asus gtx 1060

I don’t know much about parts but he told me everything should be compatible, but when I turn it on the pc all together only stays on for about 3 seconds and shuts off. The power supply is a 725w but there’s only 3 strips on the graphics card and I’ve assumed and been told that it’s an issue with the power supply

any help?

Can you open the computer case and look at the label on the power supply? There should be a make and model listed there. It would help to know the make and model of the computer itself too, if it's a pre-built, or the make and model of the motherboard and CPU if you know them.

A quick shut down might mean things work but something is either not plugged in right, or the power supply is shutting down once the power load on it is too much to handle.
