Pc in low power state all the time

I discovered that my power switch didnt work so I plugged in my reset switch into my power switch pin. This works but I'm planning to buy a new power switch from ebay.

I have two questions:

Firstly, ebayusers sell a lot of power switch cables but in their pics they show of a reset switch cable. Does this work as well? Because I read somewhere that reset buttons are smaller and they might not fit in the power button.

Secondly, why is my pc in a low power state all the time? I know this because it awakens when I press the spacebar on my keyboard. If I want to save money, I probably should remove the cable to my wall pluger, but I'm afraid that this can cause damage when doing this everyday.

Well, thanks a lot!

A momentary contact swithc is a momentary contact switch... as you alreqady know one can be used in the place of another, you just need to make sure the two wires go to the right posts on the motherbd. positive and ground make no difference since the switch is just a short circuit.

Thanks a lot, I ordered a cable right away. Now I'm still stuck with the problem of the low power state. If I shut the pc off everyday by removing it from the wall pluger, could this potentially hurt my harware? And is this low power state caused by the fact that I've one pin (the reset pin) unused?

Thanks again,
