My custom built PC has been having issues all of a sudden with it not switching on from sleep or shutdown unless the power was switched on and off at the mains for a while.
The pc would switch on and fans would start etc however it would not boot and no monitor output.
The HDD light would not flash indicating it wasnt doing anything
the power button was unresponsive and the only way to turn off the computer was to switch off at the mains. Then a cycle of switching the mains switch on and off until it would boot properly.
I thought it was the motherboard at fault so I ordered a new board, and whilst i was waiting for it to be delivered the PC worked fine again.
I fitted the new motherboard and all was good until today when it has started doing the same thing again
It therefore cannot be a problem with the motherboard - what else should i replace?
pc specs are as follows

Gigabyte atx motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 8gb DDR3
AMD FX6300 cpu
corsair builder series 430 watt psu
ASUS gtx650ti graphics card
samsung evo ssd
wd blue hdd
Windows 10 pro 64 bit

Please help me!!!

Most often then not, it's never about replacing but more about a minor issue with a driver or your software/OS but in this event I'm going to poke a finger at the PSU. You've listed it as a Corsair Builder series 430W unit but in reality it's actually a CX430 unit. That is the likely culprit since the GTX650Ti you own needs about 430W of power. It will most likely be higher since you have an AMD platform. Given that the unit isn't built of quality components, I doubt it's even supposed to deliver 430W of power continuously and the lack thereof is what's causing the issue.

Try breadboarding your system, borrow a PSU of 550W that is as close to Tier 1 as possible from a friend and with only your OS drive and see if the system boots into your OS.

Hi
Thank so for the reply
As a matter of fact I have just this week replaced the psu and yay it's fixed the problem

I will be sending the Corsair psu back as it's under warranty

I did do calculations and cooler master website told me fort setup I needed at least a 415watt power supply so that's why I went for the cx430

Anyhow I've now got a cheap one off amazon 500 watt and works fine so will see how it goes

Thanks for your reply I forgot I posted about this actually as no one replied for ages!!!

* The PSU is considered the heart of a system, when it has a heart attack and depending on the severity of the cheapness of the unit, it'll take everything that it's been connected to out. So I ask out of concern...what did you buy?

You're welcome though I just hope you didn't walk into another trap with a conscious head.
