PC is freezing randomly

PC is constantly freezing due to a hardware issue i believe. It will freeze randomly but wont occur when i put it under stress when playing a high demand game such as Grand Theft Auto. It will freeze and require me to restart it from the button/back switch/plug. When it does freeze the keyboard lights don't turn on or anything. Furthermore i recently had this problem happen and so, i was frustrated and I turned it off from the plug which caused my hard drive to fail and i had to format it then reinstall windows for it to work again. But the problem continued to occur afterwards as well. HELP!

Proccesor - AMD Bulldozer FX-4170 Quad Core 4.2GHz
Motherboard - Asus M5A78L-M USB3
Graphics card - Asus GT 610 1GB
1TB harddrive
8gb of ram
650w powers supply
