Hello Friends,

Currently I am facing a weird problem which I didn't face before. When I shutdown my PC I can not switch on my pc next time unless I reset the bios either by removing CMOS battery or using jumper on CMOS reset . I have tested my pc with / without GPU, RAM, HDD still same problem. Currently I am using windows 10 pro.

My PC Build,

Processor: Intel Core i5 4460
Motherboard: Gigabyte B85M-D3H (rev 1.0)
Ram: Twinmos 6GB DDR3 1333 bus (2GB + 4GB)

What happens when you press and hold the power button on the computer case for four or five seconds and then press it again instead of clearing the CMOS?

If it turns on the system then the Windows shutdown has failed to perform a complete shutdown.

Sorry for the late reply, wasn't at home for couple of days. Yes I have tried by pressing & holding the power button for 4-7 secs then again press the power button but still the pc wasn't booting. The pc shutdown properly there is no problem with that.

I am using Thermaltake Litepower 450W & and model is LT- 450NL2NK, but while my pc is on I don't face any issue. My power supply is giving the required power output.

Then the problem lies with the motherboard.

I think so as well, I think the problem is with the BIOS. Do we you have any idea whether this problem can be fixed

You can try replacing the coin cell battery but I doubt that will solve the problem.

If the CMOS is being corrupted after shutdown or during power on there's nothing you can fix on the motherboard.

I would suggest trying a different power supply unit just to rule out a power up problem.

I have tried with a different power supply as well, but no luck...

I have updated the BIOS to F15 the latest one but still same issue...need to take it to shop

Yes bro I did that too... I will take it to the shop & lets see what happen

OMG!! NO updates bro, still same issue, can u pls tell me your pc configurations?

Windows 10
Phenom ii x4 955
DDR2 4x2GB corsair xms2 pc2-8500
Geforce GTX750 ti
430w corsair PSU
Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H

I can restart PC a thousand times and it works fine but if I turn it off by the plug (cold boot) it won't start and I have to do a BIOS reset and reseat ram to get it working again. Changed battery, ram, with GPu etc. Only thing I didn't try yet is PSU but you said you tried that already. I'm lost

No bro yet I haven't been to store, will go there hopefully with in 2-3 days... I will let u guys know the updates..

I have been to the importer & gave them the board for RMA on 6th October and got the board today (15th October)couple of hours back.. but still the same issue i found..i will test the board again & will take it to them again & see what happens.. 🙁
