So i just got my TP-Link 150mbps High Grain usb adapter and i tested my download speed online at speedtest.net and it test 10mbps (not the best, i need to upgrade my router) but anyways, i decided i'd download a game, and its peak download speed is 1.8mbps, and on my laptop, the same game was 2.2-2.4mbps. I seriously doubt that my laptop had a better adapter than the one im using for my desktop, so i'm wondering if you know what could be going on because those download speeds are just not acceptable.

Thanks

Could be the antenna. USB network adapters tend to have terrible antennas due to the limited space, while a laptop with built-in wireless usually uses the display for mounting antennas, and those antennas tend to get better reception.
