Hi, I have been having some major and some minor PC issues. First off, when I play pretty much any games, the game crashes to the desktop out of no where. Also, I have had issues with Windows explorer crashing and restarting until I restart my PC. Sometimes my PC will bluescreen and then return to the desktop frozen. I have ran virus scans many times, defraged and optimized many times, cleaned ect ect. Thank you for any help in advance.

SPECS:
OS: Windows 7 ultimate
Graphics: Geforce 1060 6gb
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K
RAM: 16gb
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LX

Have you checked for malware or ran any system file checks such as sfc /scannow?

Malwarebytes is a good malware scan tool you can get free. Make sure you DL the Windows version.

At any rate, after you do that check each RAM module one at a time in the first slot to make sure it's not a bad RAM module. Just make sure when you test it you don't test any games that require over 4GB RAM.
Crashing to bluescreen often means RAM problems. I assume since you have 16GB RAM and an older CPU and OS you have two modules? If so, plug each one at a time into the first RAM slot.

You should also download the latest version of Memtest86 and run it's full test.

Is your 1060 6GB a Gigabyte btw? I found this thread on GeForce forums where a guy couldn't run his 1060 6GB on that MB, then tried swapping out the Giga 1060 for an EVGA and it worked fine.

Note that if your 1060 has VRAM problems, it could result in similar symptoms of bad RAM.

Just to check full spec, what PSU are you running and how long and hard have you been using it?

Thank you for the reply, I have a Palit Geforce GTX 1060 graphics card, I have 4 memory modules 4gb each. My PSU says Cooler Master 500. The PC I am using is about 5 weeks old. Problems have been occurring the last 2 weeks or so however before that everything was fine.

sfc /scannow should not only scan for corrupt system files, but also attempt to repair them. The only reason to do a System Restore or OS Format would be if it reported corrupt files and said it could not repair some of them. So keep that in mind for future reference. That said, I have found it works better at the repairing in W10.

Anyways, good that you got it working.
