PC Just Won't Power On (P8B75-M/CSM)

I'm completely new to building a PC and followed the directions as best as I could, but I didn't understand everything. I'm worried something is either defective or it could just be wiring.
I was linked to a sticky on this site on first time builders' main issues or something like that. None of the items listed were the problem. I'm really at a loss here. The PSU is a Corsair TX650.

I have:
The CPU cord plugged in (only half of it needed to be used)
I have the big 24 pin connector put in the only slot available
The "AC'97" cable plugged into a pin connector with "AAFP" next to it
I have the LED's plugged in
The power button and reset button (I suppose I should mention, I'm using a Thermaltake Dokker case)
The SATA cables are plugged in
One of the PCI-E cables is plugged into the 7850
And that little thing that says "SPEAKER" is plugged in.

That's it.

Nothing works. I flipped the back switch. Grounded the MOBO properly, and have most everything hooked up.

Any ideas?

Your first statement is a bit vague. I'm not sure what you mean. Also, I did what the video said. The fan of my PSU will spin for a second and the stop. Do I need to exchange it?

Regarding the first statement, I mean the board's front panel header (where the wires from the HDD led, power and reset switches connect to the motherboard).
But since in the PSU test the fan does not spin (assuming the green and black pins have been correctly shorted), then yes, try RMA-ing the power supply).

So it's supposed to continuously spin? Of course...
I always get the defective crap.

Thank you.

Ok. Problem. I went back to check. Corsair's new line of power supplies are meant to have peak efficiency in mind. The fan stops when it doesn't need to spin. So my PSU wasn't defective at all. Good? Not good. Because that means I either did something wrong and I have NO clue what or my motherboard is fried and I can't exchange it. I need to purchase it again.

Any ideas?

What I would try:
-take the board outside the case and start it with only CPU and CPU fan installed (only the CPU fan, 24 and 4/8 pin cables and power button wires connected to the board).
See if the CPU fan does spin when starting the board.

Motherboard was defective. I exchanged it. Tower works.
Now I have a monitor that always reads no signal. We've deduced it's incompatible. You can't convince me otherwise.
>It connects to my laptop
>It connects to my friend's rig (all ports)
>My rig connects to my TV (all ports)
>My rig connects to my friend's monitor (all ports)
There's no other reason. But we can get around that. Now I'm at ANOTHER damn roadblock.

What I'm worried about now is installing Windows 7. I'm booting (YES a legit copy) from USB since I didn't want to buy a disc drive. But every time Window's "finishes" installing, it goes right back to asking if I want to install. I looked up a YouTube tutorial and it just didn't make any sense to me. Partially because he was using a different bios layout.

I really don't know what to do. I'd just like to get this goddamn thing working. It's been a month and $960 and I still haven't gotten it on it's feet. I don't know why it just won't go smoothly.

Got Windows working...
Don't know how. Don't care just the same.

But now I've got another issue. I can put in speakers headphones, install any driver, change volume settings all around, and I still get no sound.

"The CPU cord plugged in (only half of it needed to be used)", What? You mean the CPU fan?
"I have the big 24 pin connector put in the only slot available" What about the 12v connector?
"The 'AC'97' cable plugged into a pin connector with "AAFP" next to it" - AAFP is the Front Panel audio jacks. You will notice the cable wire is leading to the front of the case.
Assuming SAPPHIRE HD 7850 2GB GDDR5, it requires 1 x 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector, 500 watt PSU (minimum) - ticked

There is no mention of ram, you need ram! Ram specs?

Well...the rig works now.

I have no clue but I just started messing with crap, next thing I knew, I was playing Phantasy Star Online 2 and Sonic Generations maxed out at 60 fps... :I

...

Thank you.

Thanks for posting your success however those phantom quick fixes don't last long, it might just take a few extra hours of gaming or some sort of multi-tasking and switching between apps to start the issues all over again. Don't hesitate on posting again, we are all here waiting with bated breath :)

Good luck and good gaming...
