Hay guys, so I bought a PC off craigslist and every time i play any games it locks up and a hard boot is the only way to reset it.

The heat and power usage are all within range, I also replaces the graphics card from a Geforce GTX 660 to a Geforce GTX 970, thinking that might be to problem. It didn't fix anything. I swapped the power source out from a 500w to a 750w, checked the RAM with 3 different progems, Checked the HDD's, Put extra cooling fans in, Udated all the drivers, Updated the BIOS and the OS and still the computer crashes.

I've run out of idea's on could be causing the crashes other than It being the MOBO.

CPU: I7 2600k
RAM: 2x8gig DDR3 667MHz
MOBO: Asus P8P67-M Pro
GPU: Geforce GTX 970
PSU: 750w
Windows 10 Pro

Any idea's?

Hi there DevineButtCheeks,

Have you overclocked your CPU? In case you've done that, it may be a good idea to downclock it.
Also, you can run some stress testing.

In case the issue persists, then the MOBO could be the cause. You will need to take it to a repair shop though.

Yea I stress tested the CPU and GPU both and never got a forced crash. I was hoping it wasn't the MOBO but at least I have some conformation that it might be.

Mp need to take it to the repair shop when its not worth the repair, I can get a new one for the same price.
