I got a PC just under a year now and it had become a rising problem that the PC crashes during games. During work it is totally fine.

I used to have a 650 watt bronze power supply and thought that was the problem but after changing today it crashed while doing a benchmark run. and while starting up a game. - should i return my new psu?

My thoughts that there may be a problem with the CPU.

Is there anyone who has encountered this problem before and/or knows how to fix this??

Thanks in advance

Solution
Make sure your motherboard bios is up to date, as well as your gpu and other system device drivers.
You can try running sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f from an admin command prompt.
Run a drive diagnostic utility and a memtest to make sure your hardware is good.
Finally, try disabling any background applications when gaming, and maybe a virus scan.

You can also go into event viewer and see if it lists the reason for the crash. This can help determine why.

One last thing, uninstall your current display driver, run DDU (from 3dguru.com) to remove any leftover fragments, then fresh install the new graphics driver. Sometimes old drivers can hang around and cause problems.
