Hey everyone, I have been having this problem with my computer for a while now, and I have tried several things to fix it, none worked untill now.

So basically what is happening, is I am playing games (Fortnite, Rocket League and GTA 5 Online).
*Take for example fortnite, a game which my rig should be able to easily run. I was playing for about 1.5 hour solo and then went on to play with my brother. Out of nowhere, after about 15 minutes both my screens go black and the sound of the fans increases (I guess the fans start to turn faster). I then "kill" my PC by just pushing the button on my case.
*But then why I play GTA 5, which I know is more demanding, it happens after 5 minutes after loading into the world. But then sometimes the humming noise doesn't increase, leaving me to think the fans didn't increase in speed.

So I have tried several things, which I will list below:

  • * Scan PC for viruses. I knew this probably was not the problem, but just to be sure I did it. I use Norton.
    * Cleaned out my PC using CCleaner. Again, I knew this would probably not be the reason for it happening, but I wanted to be sure
    * Checked for updates using Geforce Experience. Saw my drivers were up to date
    * Reinstalled drivers. I booted up Windows in safe mode, and then I used Display Driver Uninstaller to remove my display driver. After that I went over to the NVIDIA site to reinstall the correct drivers. This didn't work either, the games kept crashing
    * Reset CMOS. This wasn't for this problem, but my PC kept bootlooping, without me touching it. Resetting it fixed that, and it seemed it also helped my PC crashing, even though I haven't overclocked anything.
    * Checked bios if RAM checked out. I went into my BIOS, to check if it registered both ram sticks and if the Mhz checked out. it did
    * CPU Stress Testing. I used Prime95 to stress test my CPU. I used the `Blend` torture preset. While doing this I checked my temperatures. I ran it for about 30 minutes, twice. Temperatures were fine the whole time.
    * RAM Stress Testing. I used Memtest86, the USB option. I ran it for about 45 minutes, making sure all my RAM was stressed, and not only one. After this one, nothing came out. 0 errors
    * GPU Stress testing. I used Unigine Heave, to check if my GPU Fans even started to run, after hitting about 60 degrees. And they did

This was about it, and also roughly in this order. I am starting to think its just a faulty GPU, but I am nowhere near to having enough knowledge about this. All this was done with the helps of the internet.
My specs are listed below. Good to say I purchased my PC about a year ago, around june/august.

  • *Corsair RM Series RM550X
    * Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 6G
    * Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4, 2 x 4gb
    * Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003, 1 TB
    * MSI Z170A Gaming M5 Motherboarrd
    * Windows 10 Home, 64 Bit
    *Intel i5 6500 Quad
Any help would be much appreciated, seeing I am kind of desperate to get this fixed.
I hope you all can help me!
Much love in advance
