I have been running into issues while gaming where my PC will freeze and I can't use my mouse, but the computer animations still work. It seems like all of my USB ports stop working for some reason because my WiFi adapter that is plugged through USB and my mouse and keyboard stop working too. The only solution has been to hard restart my computer when this happens. I caught this happen one time while my task manager was open and it showed that my hard drive usage was 100% but I have had this happen with games on both my SSD and HDD, so I'm not sure that's the issue.

Some troubleshooting I have done myself is update my motherboard's BIOS and I have tried unplugging and replugging in my new GPU and PSU, including all of the cables. My setup is as follows
  • RTX 3070 ti
  • B550 Tomahawk Motherboard
  • RM750x PSU
  • Ryzen 5 CPU
  • 2x8GB GSkill Ripjaws RAM

I have made sure all of my connections are solid and everything is plugged in correctly, any help is appreciated.

On one of the crashes I got this message "The program BlackOps3.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed." and there are a few Hardware Error messages on the Reliability Monitor. I am thinking it is very possible the PSU is the issue, as I got it less than a week ago and had no issues previously. I needed a new power supply for my RTX 3070 so I chose to upgrade, is it possible I got a faulty unit?

Also, I do game pretty frequently, but no mining. And most of the games I play are not too intense

Faulty PSU unit is possible.

Make and model PSU, wattage? Source?

Did you mix or match in power cables from any other PSUs?

If so, do not do that.

Also power down, unplug, open the case.

Ensure that all connectors, cards, RAM, and jumpers are fully and firmly in place.

Could be that one of the new PSU cables is not fully and firmly in place. Unplug and replug all a few times to ensure that all are secure - both ends (if modular).

RMx Series RM750x — 750 Watt 80 PLUS® Gold Certified Fully-Modular PSU. It is a corsair PSU that I got from Amazon

I made sure to not mix and match the cables and only use the new ones given to me in the box. And I will check and make sure everything is plugged in again, but I have made sure of that before.

I was confident that I made sure that everything was plugged in tightly, but when checking the PSU, the smaller part of the 24 pin connector that goes into the PSU was not fully locked into place, this very well could have been the issue. Sadly my issue is not something I can just make happen, so I will have to wait and see if there are any crashes within the next couple days. Thank you for your help Ralson18
