I had build a new pc for Christmas this year and everything had been going great until about this week

my specs:

i7-9700k
MSI Z390
Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700xt
16gb of 3200mhz
650 watt psu bronze 80+

I had been playing a game of apex legends and my pc froze and stayed there for a solid hour. I held my power button to turn it off. It is still happening. I have checked my temps and they’re all good.

Solution
Are you overclocking? What do you have the GPU set at? Those are two things to look into. What settings do you have the game on? If you overclocked anything restore it to factory see how that works. The game settings take them off of high or ultra and just put them on normal or whatever is lower than the highest. If your still having problems set the GPU to factory default. If none of that works in Windows Powershell run SFC scan and DISM you may have a corruption. You could run that first and check the event log to see what's up but from what your saying if you messed with any of that stuff that maybe your problem. If you want then run SFC, DISM and the event log first it doesnt cost you anything. Good luck.
