About two days ago I was playing a game and suddenly my pc just froze up. I couldn't move the mouse, there was no sound and the display was frozen. i went to turn off my pc and when i turned it back on it was stuck in a boot loop where it would boot up and after about 3 seconds turn off and kept repeating.

After a few times it finally got to motherboard splash screen but would then freeze on that screen. I tried disconnecting all USB devices and then ended up getting into my pc but after a few minutes it froze again and did the exact same thing as before. I tried clearing the CMOS and that didn't work and tried unplugging USB and that didn't work so i left it overnight and tried it the next day and was able to get into my pc again.

Although after about 30 minutes i got a blue screen and it started doing everything from before. I'm now back into my pc after leaving it overnight again but since then its once again frozen up but this time I restarted it and it got straight back in.

Does anyone know why this is happening or know a solution to this problem? thanks

Solution
Check all connections in your computer. Thermal creep can cause things to get loose and cause this type of thing. There are also a ton of other things it could be as well so this is by no means the only thing it could be. Your PSU could be dying, the motherboard could be dying (bad caps or something like that), your RAM could have gone bad, lots and lots of things.. Start with the simplest thing and then work your way up.

Troubleshooting this kind of problem is going to be complicated. The first thing you should do is note what the Blue Screen crash says (it might tell you what component is faulty, if it's RAM it's going to say MEMORY and if it's your GPU it's going to say something about display video).

Did you overclock your graphics card? The error might have been caused by too high heat in your GPU. Try booting using the CPU's integrated graphics by connecting your monitor to the motherboard's display. To do so, plug your monitor directly to your motherboard's DVI or VGA connectors; you may also consider taking out your graphics card for this test. If the problems persist, then you can absolutely rule out your graphics as a problem.
