Hello. I bought my pc in 2018, first few months after acquisition, i started to have problems. My screen was blinking sometimes (turning off and on and crashing some apps). I managed to get in contanct with Nvidia support and after some steps i managed to fix the blinking problem. I have to mention that i'm a gamer, and i game a lot. I was playing PUBG, SCUM and other games with zero issues. At some point, PC started to encounter random restarts while gaming. The weird thing is that i have a lot of restarts in games menus, and this happens usually when i go fullscreen. I ran OCCT stress test for PSU (the one with the static donut) and it does not restart. When i switch to dynamic test (donut moves) and i go fullscreen, it's insta restart. I updated my BIOS, reinstalled windows. I do play World of Warcraft as well, restarts are VERY rare and they occur when is for example a high movement in the game (ex : 40 spears coming out of the ceiling when they drop onto their projected textures). Last night when i updated my graphics driver it started to restart in game options pannel, when i was opening options, was insta restart. I tried everything thats humanly possible, ran memory diag, check if there's a short on mobo. It seems that when i change 3D settings on nVidia control pannel, it gets slightly better, but not for all games. For example i was able to play the game named SCUM 1 year ago with 0 restarts. Now i get random restarts in game menu. It literally blows my mind and i would like to know if someone experienced this. Sadly i don't have a spare PSU to check if that's the issue, and i kinda ruled it out since on the stress test everything is stable until i go on dynamic stress test for GPU in fullscreen.
GPU : Gainward GTX 1060 6GB
CPU : Ryzen 5 2600
Mobo : MSi B350 Krait Gaming
PSU : Sirtec ECO II HPC-550-H12S, 550W, ATX 2.3
RAM : Corsair Vengeance DDR-4 2400 MHz
I have to mention that besides PSU (which is a bit old) everything has a warranty. This problem really bothers me for so long, only because of the fact that the PC restarts while gaming were non-existent at start, then they became inconsistent, then started to happen very often, even in games that require low to medium end build. (for example the game Smite, i get restart there as well in the game menu). I'm 100% sure that motion image is triggering my restarts, but i'm not sure if that's a hardware issue or a software issue.
