Hi,

This affected PC has been working fine over a year and a half until one day I came in the morning and saw it's powered off. I thought there was a power black out or something because my other PCs that were supposed to be on were off at the time.

Anyhow, I turned all my other PC back on. When I turned this affected PC back on, I heard something kept rebooting over and over again. I did not hear the beep sound except for the noise of the case fan.

I checked on my screen to see if I could get to see anything there but to no avail. At one point, I could see just a glimpse of BIOS configuration page before it's turned off again.

When it 's rebooting I tried the key "DEL" or "ESC" or "F2" or "F12" accordingly, none of these took me to the bios screen. All I got on my screen was blank.

I actually found some articles with the same issues here in this forum. There was a suggestion that either PSU or GPU may be failing. So I tested my PSU by connecting the green and the black wire using paperclip. It worked well because both the fan - PSU and case fan were spinning.

This led me to think my integrated GPU could be the culprit.

would it still work if I got myself a dedicated GPU?

My MOBO is Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
PSU is Thermaltake TR2 700W

Thank you very much in advance

The computer restart loop problem is often the result of a device driver, a bad system component or hardware that causes a Windows system to spontaneously reboot in the middle of the boot process. The end result is a machine that can never boot completely.

Did you try clearing the CMOS?

Thank you for replying.

No, I did not try clearing the CMOS yesterday. But I just tried it today. I took the battery out and left it for around 10 minutes. Put it back in and restarted it. and the same problem still persists.

Many thanks

I'll try to test the RAMs with memtest.

Sorry I forgot to mention that this PC runs Linux ubuntu. Thank you for sharing those articles with me though.

Cheers
