I have an ASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE Motherboard. Previously I had 4 RAM slots installed, each with 128GB DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 8Rx4 ECC Registered Memory.
I wanted to maximize the memory, so I installed 4 more RAM slots with the same RAM stick. However, the machine refuses to boot with all 8 RAM slots installed.
I installed the new RAM slot one by one, i.e., 5 slots were installed, and the PC booted normally.
The PC also worked with 6 slots and then 7 slots installed, but once all 8 slots were installed, it wouldn't post anymore and the Qcode kept jumping and looping from 01, 66, DE, AD, 20, 44 and went back to 01.
According to the manual of the motherboard, 01 is Power on. Reset type detection (soft/hard).
When I removed any of the slots among the 8 slots, it posted and then booted to the OS without issue.
Here is the full configuration of the machine:
What could be the problem here?
Update:
When putting 8 sticks of CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz Memory RAM, the machine posted and booted.
