I have already tried every possible solution of fixing my computer but it seems I'm getting no where. I'm the one fixing computers when regards to my family and friends. Fixing computers is my part time job. Now I have a problem with my own computer and was not able to resolved the problem.
My problem is my pc keeps restarting and I already replace some of the parts and still keeps restarting sometimes its getting a blue screen even though its recently reformatted.
My Specs:
Emaxx EMX-MCP61M2-iCafe MOBO (Brand New) replacing the old EMX-MCP61S-AVL
600 Wtts Power Supply (Brand New) Replacing the old 500 Wtts
My Old P6600 3.2 Ghz Processor
My Old Seagate 40Gig Hard Disk
My Old 2gig RAM
I Have already removed some of the parts to see if the problem would be fixed...
I removed the video card, floppy disk, cd rom, second 1Gig RAM, and the second hard disk
Troubleshooting steps that I have done:
- I have already reformatted my pc for several times and tried to switch from xp to windows 7 and see if it will work and still the same.
- Installed all the drivers
- Run BIOS to fail safe mode
- Replacing thermal paste and it runs on 45 degrees to 48 degrees temp (No signs of overheating
- CPU Fan is working
- Scanned the hard disk by doing it through command prompt "checkdsk" and fix some problems
- Undo the partition of my hard drive just to be sure
- Scan the RAM with MemTest86+ and no signs of errors and passed three test
- Tried to removed the RAM and there's a beep and put it back again
- Jumpers of my hard disk is connected right
- Changed CMOS battery
- Removed the entire parts to the case just to be sure that there's no grounded
- Run In Safe Mode and the pc still would restart
- Checked the Event Viewer but it says critical error kernel computer restarted without shutting it down properly
I have already read every thread in this forum and it seems none of those help. I nearly threw my unit to the garbage and Im already in a point of loosing hope to fix computers again.
By the way, my processor is doing something, it makes noises when I go the the bios to change the time setup but when i go to the other settings like security and power setup the noise would disappear. Only in main setup. I wonder if my processor is already damage but the processor is the most durable part of computer to be broken. I have no idea what signs to be able to detect if cpu is damage... As far as I know, if the processor is broken the computer will not boot.
My Hard disk socket is a bit loose, sometimes its getting a boot failure (cannot find boot sector). It temporarily fixes the problem when I connect the power cable tightly and it will come to windows. So if the HD will fail windows will hang or after the restart post msg will be "cannot find the boot sector"
So the problem is either the MOBO, Hard Disk, RAM, PSU, or CPU... bought new NEW MOBO, PSU.
I Hope You Could Solve My Problem.
