PC making random quiet chirping noises

I've read quite a few threads on this issue, but I don't think I've found anything quite like I'm experiencing.

Basically, it sounds like a very quiet version of a telegraph machine, and the chirping is as random as Morse code. There just doesn't seem to be any real pattern to it.

I unplugged my HDD (I run my OS on an SSD), rebooted, but the chirping continues. I held my chassis fan on startup, but it was still there. I'm hesitant on doing the same thing for my CPU fan, but maybe someone has a suggestion for testing that.

It almost sounds like it's coming from the lower half of my PC, like the power supply or graphics card.

When I play games though, the sound doesn't increase in frequency or change pitch, it just stays the same. My temperatures while playing games and sitting at idle haven't changed at all either. In fact, there hasn't been any noticeable performance issues at all, it just started randomly chirping about a week ago.

Maybe its the cheapy Rosewill RD600 I have as I've read PSUs can make some weird noises when they're about to fail, but I feel like the sound would've gotten worse if that was the case.

Keep in mind this PC is on its 3rd year of life, and I've never once heard something like this.

Hopefully someone can help track this annoying noise down!

Thank you,
-Cameron

Solution
Surely the sound is coming from one of the fans, chirping is quite common as the bearings fail. Replace the fans and that should solve your problem.

This morning I picked up some of that compressed air dust-off stuff for computers, and it really seemed to do the trick. I usually just rub off the dust with a cloth, but I guess that hasn't been the best haha. I started with the PSU first, booted up, and the noise was basically gone. I then did the rest just to clean the rest of my PC up.

However, there seems to be another single chirp every few minutes, which I have isolated to the chassis exhaust fan. Thankfully I have a spare, but I guess the bearings were starting to fail on that one.

Though it wasn't the original telegraph noise per say, I still wanna give you the solution cause that was the source of one of the chirps! :)
