Hi all

Ryzen 5 2600
ram is https://www.skroutz.gr/s/9519501/G-Skill-16GB-DDR4-3000MHz-F4-3000C16D-16GISB.html but I have a single 8gb ( I know I lose a lot because its single channel - working on it)
B450M-DS3H

Whenever I increase my ram from 2133 to 2400 or 2666 or 3000 I have game freezes - crashes - blue screens. I tried manual overclock tried XMP profile still nothing changes.
If I run at 2133 I have no crashes , at 2400 it still crashes but It takes a long time , at 2666 still crashes but faster than 2400 and at 3000 it crashes in like 5 minutes of gameplay.
Also with 3000 I noticed freezes even while being on youtube or google in general , dunno if it also happens with 2666 or 2400 though.

What gives ?

Did you updated to the latest bios? The motherboards always comes with an old bios. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios i would download the F32 version. F40 and above is for ryzen 3000.

Currently I am on F40 , you think I should roll back to F32 ?
Try as WildCard999 mentioned to place the ram to another slot. If this dont work either then i would totally roll back the bios version. These bios versions are made for 3000 series ryzen have many problems. When i updated my Aorus X370 with Ryzen 5 1600 to F40 i had many problems with 3200mhz and it would work only at 2133mhz. I also made a ticket at gigabyte support and all they said it was that they first time hear this problem. After that i roll back the bios version. I also read your mobo manual they dont say about a specific slot if you use a single stick of ram probably it should work everywhere they mention only if you use 2 dimm or 4 dimm of ram.

Thanks for the answers guys will try that , I had the same issue with my ram with the F4 bios. I was told to upgrade and on the F40 it still remains , well I will try the slot thing and if that doesnt work I will roll back a bit and test again.
Again thanks.

Oh also because I dont want to do anything stupid , I power off the computer , turn the PSU off then start it again to remove any voltage left in the system and then I remove the RAM right ?

Ok so by changing the slot from 1 to 2 and enabling again the XMP profile I didnt have any issues in a whole day , that included gaming , youtube , google etc. I will give it a bit more time before I say "Solved" but so far it looks promising ;D
