PC Monitor advice desired

I just yesterday purchased: http://www.microcenter.com/product/389430/e2460swd_24_Widescreen_LED_Monitor on clearance for 139$. The specs all look in order, as far as this lightly educated individual believes, but it was not one of the monitors in my compatibility search on PCPicker, nor am I familiar with AOC's brand reputation. To these ends I was wondering if this monitor was a suitable fit for the aforementioned rig and what, if anything someone could tell me about their brand reputation and the heirarchy if there exists one for brands of monitors. Perhaps even some recommended alternatives to this monitor should you decide this one is not ideal.

Any monitor will work with any computer, mostly. You have to work really hard to find a new monitor that won't work with a new computer. What is your budget for a monitor? AOC is not a top brand, lower tier I'd say.
