HDMI does carry sound, but since the ASUS monitor doesn't have an HDMI input and only VGA, you will have to convert the signal, which will not transfer the sound with it.

As for which of the first two are better, they both look pretty equal. It would be down to image quality, which you may be able to compare in store.

So the first one would carry sound because it has an HDMI import, and also i could also plug my headset into my controller if that would work. Does the first monitor have a headphone jack if so would that work.

The first monitor doesn't have speakers, so again, no sound through the HDMI. If you want sound as well, look for one with speakers AND an HDMI input.
