PC monitor inbuilt speakers

If I have an HDMI monitor, with built in speakers, will I be able to get both audio and video through a single HDMI cable? Will the audio be clear?
Are there any other specifications, monitor wise, that I should worry about when hooking up the PS3. Any possible compatibility issues?

Yes you will be able to get audio through the single HDMI. HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. I have hdmi at home and I get Clear audio and video. The audio quality depends on the quality of your speakers

Yes it works but don't expect much for the quality of sound monitor built in speakers are really bad but will work if that's all you got.

Yeah, generally built in monitor speakers are pretty garbage.

Only time I've had good monitor speakers was from a 30" Gateway IPS that came with a Speaker Bar to attach under neath the monitor. And that cost me $1700. (and by googling it for more info turns out I may be able to $200 from a class action lawsuit against gateway because of issues the monitor had)
